Recognizing a need for a communal gathering point following the Dutch Liberation Day ceremonies, I launched and managed the inaugural Liberation Day Pancake Breakfast. My goal was to celebrate the unique international friendship between Canada and the Netherlands through the lens of classic Canadian hospitality. I oversaw the entire lifecycle of the event, from conceptualizing the tribute to managing high-volume food service for veterans and the general public. By pairing a traditional pancake breakfast with a significant day of WWII remembrance, I successfully established a new community pillar that honors those who served while fostering a spirit of togetherness and historical appreciation for all who attend.
